Description

The Chief of Safety and Security at the California High-Speed Rail Authority is responsible for overseeing all safety and security operations for the nation's largest infrastructure project. The position leads comprehensive safety program development, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations including Cal/OSHA and Federal Railroad Administration requirements, and manages incident response protocols. Key duties include establishing systems to identify and mitigate safety hazards, developing safety policies and procedures, supervising safety staff, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies. The role requires extensive construction safety experience, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to represent the Authority with external stakeholders. This critical position protects workers and the public while ensuring successful delivery of California's historic high-speed rail system.
