Description
The Agency’s Undersecretary shall provide the Secretary of the State Transportation Agency with advice on agency issues, program, and departments. The Undersecretary shall oversee agency personnel, fiscal and administrative functions, and strategic planning in a manner consistent with the roles of a chief operating officer and chief of staff. Other specific duties include but are not limited to: (1) planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the agency; (2) overseeing budgets, administration, audits, and personnel; (3) ensuring efficient and effective processes for communication, action requests, correspondence, and various approval mechanisms; (4) coordinating policy and legislative analyses; (5) overseeing the hiring and development of agency leaders; and, (6) representing the Secretary as assigned and requested, among other responsibilities.
