Description
The mission of the Civil Rights Department is to protect the people of California from unlawful discrimination in employment, housing, businesses, and state-funded programs, and from bias-motivated violence and human trafficking. Under the direction of the Director, the Chief Deputy Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and administering complex and sensitive functions across the Department’s divisions in locations throughout the State of California.
The Chief Deputy advises the Director and leads a team of executives in managing the day-to-day operations of the Department; leads the evaluation of Department programs through internal audits and other initiatives; leads the evaluation and evolution of Department processes, policies, and systems; and supports a work environment for all staff consistent with the Department’s core values and civil rights mission.
