The California Department of Housing and Community Development helps to provide stable, safe homes affordable to veterans, seniors, young families, farm workers, tribes, people with disabilities, and individuals and families experiencing homelessness so that every California resident can live, work, and play in healthy communities of opportunity.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Communications, the Assistant Director of External Affairs establishes partnerships and relationships with housing-related entities and effectively communicates and raises awareness for the Department’s programs, goals and initiatives. The general audience for this communication includes media, external stakeholders, nonprofit and for-profit entities, as well as local, state and federal government agencies.
