Description
The University of California, Board of Regents (Board) serves as trustees for the people of the State of California and as stewards for the University of California. They act to govern the University as a public trust in fulfillment of its educational, research, and public service missions in the best interests of the people of California. The Board also sets policies that the University administration is responsible for implementing.
The University of California educates nearly 300,000 students including over 236,000 undergraduate students and over 63,000 graduate students in 170 academic disciplines and 870-degree programs. The University of California is the state’s second largest employer with over 266,000 faculty and staff members across 10 campuses.
