The Executive Secretary of the Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) is responsible for managing and executing the duties of the Commission. The NAHC identifies, catalogs, and protects Native American cultural resources, including ancient places of special religious or social significance to Native Americans and known ancient graves and cemeteries of Native Americans on both private and public lands in California, including the oversight of the California Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
