The position serves as a member of the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) Executive Team. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Chief Deputy helps develop overall goals and strategies, with oversight of programmatic, operational and policy objectives. The Chief Deputy develops and manages detailed plans that transform the Governor's over-arching strategic plans, vision, goals and strategies into reality; anticipates and addresses opportunities and challenges; and monitors progress to course correct as necessary.  The Chief Deputy assists in aligning collaborative efforts with federal agencies, Employment Development Department,  the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, and 49 local workforce investment board directors and chief local elected officials to achieve the state’s strategic plans, visions, goals and objectives.
