Description
The Executive Director serves as the inaugural leader of the Housing Development and Finance Committee (HDFC), a newly established department within the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH), and subsequently within the California Housing and Homelessness Agency (CHHA) following the Governor’s Reorganization Plan.
This role is responsible for building HDFC from inception – standing up the organization, leading a multidisciplinary team, and transforming how the State coordinates, funds, and delivers affordable housing. The Executive Director will bring deep expertise in housing finance, intergovernmental collaboration, and public-sector program design to provide systems-level leadership and operational execution.
The Executive Director will guide the State’s transition to a modernized, streamlined, and transparent housing finance system that delivers faster, more predictable, and more efficient outcomes to meet California’s housing goals. Specific duties are outlined below.
