Description

The California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) is the state’s key advisory and oversight board for workforce development. The CWDB helps to continuously improve the workforce development system by assisting the Governor in setting and guiding workforce development policy. It also develops innovative initiatives through statewide programs, and advances administrative priorities with other partner agencies. The CWDB plays a significant role in developing and implementing the Governor’s priority initiatives to expand and boost workforce and economic development through JobsFirst and Career Pathways. Board members serve as the leading voice on workforce needs by mobilizing their networks and being a sounding board for the unique needs of each region and sector throughout the state. Members work with 45 local workforce development areas and boards to develop and disseminate best practices for the workforce development system.
