Description

The California Air Resources Board purpose is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the state. The board shall establish a program to secure data on air quality in each air basin established by the state board, inventory sources of air pollution within the air basins of the state and determine the kinds and quantity of air pollutants and monitor air pollutants in cooperation with districts and with other agencies to fulfill the purpose of this division.
