Under the administrative direction of the Director of the Department of Pesticide Regulation, the Chief Deputy Director is responsible for executive-level management of the Department through members of the executive staff and Deputy Directors. The Chief Deputy Director is responsible for overseeing the operations and activities of the Office of Legal Affairs, Office of Legislation and Policy, Office of Laws and Regulations, and Outreach and Public Engagement Office; leads strategic budget development, oversees preparation of budget estimates and administers the approved budget; represents the Director at Stakeholder and association meetings, before the Legislature, and before Congress; assists the Director with the responsibility for Department-level policy decisions and strategic initiative planning and implementation; and serves as the Director in their absence.
